On 20 November 2020, Libereco human rights organization held an action of solidarity with political prisoner Natalia Hershe at Casinoplatz, Bern. Natalia Hershe, Belarus and Swiss citizen, was arrested at a women’s rally on 19 September and has been kept in prison in Belarus for two months over a criminal charge. A couple of dozen people attended the action, including representatives of parliament. They all called on Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis to contact Lukashenko directly and urge him to release Natalia Hershe and all political prisoners. During both rallies, Swiss citizens showed their interest to the situation in Belarus and expressed their words of support to the peaceful protest against the dictatorship and violence. Member and representative of Parliament, Fabien Molina also supported the necessity of economic pressure on the side of Switzerland against the regime, which has its structures and partners located in Switzerland.
